The work.
Upgraded traffic signal controllers and installed video detection with AI capabilities, at 121 intersections on 11 major corridors, all tied to a central system. New Ethernet switches, new or replaced detection cabling, conduit and pull-box upgrades where needed, and new advanced traffic-management software and hardware in the City Hall TMC.
The benefit.
City staff can time and watch the main streets from the Traffic Management Center to provide better traffic flow along the corridors. Daily drivers get coordinated timing across 11 corridors, and the city can change a plan from City Hall when something happens on the network.
