The city received a traffic signal technology update that will reduce travel times and increase the level of service by providing real-time data, allowing for reduced cycle lengths at signalized intersections. The city’s traffic signals were upgraded to new controllers. The modernization replaced 28 miles of copper cable with fiber optic cable in the existing conduits, installed new Ethernet switches in existing controller cabinets and updated existing video detection.
