The work.
Countywide traffic signal modifications in 85 working days: higher-visibility backplates, accessible pedestrian signals, ATMS integration with video detection, high-friction surface treatment (mill and overlay), and new striping and markings.
The benefit.
Signals are easier to see, pedestrians get accessible buttons, and the high-friction surface helps drivers stop when the road is wet. The county got a safer intersection system without a long, rolling shutdown.
